You can use this service if you are a credit provider as defined by the Privacy Act 1988, to assess applications for credit for domestic, household or personal purposes. This is commonly referred to as consumer credit.

Assess risk and reduce bad debts

This service helps you to:

  • Assess applications for credit
  • Assess an applicant's past credit history and see if other credit providers have reported default information on the applicant's credit file.

Assess the financial risk

Our database contains credit information on more than 14.4 million Australians. A Consumer Credit Enquiry provides you with information on an individual's credit history which is drawn from information on our database.

You will be returned a credit file which may include information about the individual's credit history, as well as any publicly available information held by Veda in relation to that individual.

This report can include information such as:

  • Full name
  • Date of birth
  • Address
  • Employment
  • Proprietorships
  • Directorships
  • Previous credit applications
  • Payment defaults
  • Bankruptcies
  • Default judgements and court writs.
