You can use this service to obtain information on your customer's dwelling type, based on the number of residences at the address. For example, one address may contain four separate residential units.

Locate similar customers outside your current customer base

This indicator identifies the number of homes at each building address to determine if it is a separate dwelling, duplex or whether it is low, medium or high density housing.

This service helps you to:

• Locate similar customers outside your existing customer base
• Increase market penetration
• Filter your customer marketing targeting
• Target products based on people's housing circumstances.

For example, people living in houses will often have different needs to people in high density apartments. This helps you to create product offerings tailored to the needs of these different prospects.

How it works

We use a number of data sources, including:

• Our Master Address List (MAL)
• Australia Post Postal Address File (PAF).

Simply upload your customer records to us via our data portal, Data Express, or we can enhance your file with Dwelling Type Indicator with an offline batch process.

We will require a valid residential address and DPID if available. If your database doesn't include DPIDs for residential addresses, we can supply software to remedy this before you use the service.

For all matching records, we will give you the dwelling type indicator information attached to the relevant records.

The price of appending Dwelling Type to your database will depend on the volume of records you would like enhance and the frequency of updating you may choose. Disposable Income can also be purchased as a filter when selecting a target market for specific marketing campaigns.

Dwelling Type Indicator is updated quarterly after Australia Post releases the latest Postal Address File.
